Now one of the reasons why some people are motivated in working from home is often different from person to person. But the main factor is a desire to earn a reliable salary that does not require you to leave home every day."John Smith" would be oblivious to this possibility of course.Think of the advantages of not having a boss leaning on you everyday.!!.You will be your own boss.!!
But dont be sucked in by the countless get rich quick stories that abound on the internet. How many people want to read about " I tried and failed" stories anyway. The road may not be paved with gold roads to riches, the road is not paved with gold, but their are nuggets to be found if you do your research .Yes the work loads can be higher for home businesses but you have the bonus of not working for anyone but yourself.!!
Nowdays by utilising correct search engine optimisation techniques, a marketer has the ability of geeting his product or service in front 225 million English speakers on the internet, which is roughly 45% of the Internet marketing population. And that data is taken from Nov 2001 from the US Internet Council. An often overlooked market is the large chinese market which is comes in second in viewing numbers.
Search engine optimisation is just a term which implies a web site owner has tuned his site to the way the search engines dictate. We primarily aim for google since it is the largest engine. This gives a salesman a possible audience of 225 million English speakers on the internet, which comprise 45% of the Internet population.Nov 2001 United States Internet Council.Chinese speakers can aim for the second largest market after english speakers.!
Even if you have no site then a marketer could be advertising products or services utilising google adwords which is maintained or yahoo ads etc. Both methods require a certain level of knowledge which is lightly touched on in this article. The sequence is find a product you think would sell, learn a method of promoting it and then find low competition keywords for that generic term. That method is called "long tail" keywords. For instance, instead of trying to compete for the word "mercedes" which would be difficult, you might compete for "discount mercedes in michigan" which will have less competition.
One of the most brilliant early salesman, "pen and ink" men as they were called was Gary Halbert of course.During a sales class , gary asked the following "if you and I both owned a hamburger stand and we were in a contest to see who could sell the most hamburgers..what advantages would you like most to have on your side to win.?"The students replied along the lines of "I would place my shop near a railway station" or "my prices would be the lower than everyone" etc etc.Gary then leaned forward and stated "the only advantage I want is a starving crowd" . That says so much with so little.
Internet marketing, just like other forms of marketing requires two key factors for you to research to work out if you can make a sales killing. The first is traffic levels, ie, how many potential customers there are, and the second is Visitor values.Or, what is each of these possible customers worth to me.The main problem with knowing traffic levels is are their actually buyers for this.?For instance, a search for terms like pranks and jokes etc would show huge traffic levels but with a zero level of potential buyers.A tool which is ignored but simple for traffic levels and competition is the google adwords suggestion tool.
When using Google suggestion tool go to "results are tailored to.." and click edit and choose country.Type in your main keyword and tick "use synonyms" box.I personally dont tick "dont show ideas for new keywords.." for this method. We now see the "Approx Avg Search Volumne" for a monthly guesstimate. Then we literally look for the long tail keywords from the bottom up and see if we can find a decent search number. Then if we are going for the US market we enter United states google search and see what is the number of competitors are for each term.
To find the guesstimate numbers if you are testing google adwords suggestion tool we would search for "keywords" to find sites "aimed" around these specific keywords in title etc.To find customers "values" we next go to adwords tool in the left hand side and select the button "Show estimated Avg .CPC".We multiply traffic by cpc(value per visitor) and get "Total market value".Anything above 1.2 million dollars p/month is a lucrative market.Roughly speaking, when comparing 2 similar themed niches, the one with the highest "customer value" will always be more profitable.!Thats when you start to consider number and strength of your competitors.
